When we started making markers in 2002, friends warned that our competitors were Fortune 500 Companies or old, established “players”. A manufacturing plant in Belleville, Illinois and not in China? – they asked. However, we knew we could count on more than 120 years of combined experience in the business, on a group of top-notch employees and on our enthusiasm for quality. Customers would reward innovation and respond to value. We rejected the idea that only established “players” can appeal to the market place. Being independent and unconstrained by corporate bureaucracy is a distinct advantage and a lot more exciting, too.

Customer Input
Today U-Mark makes millions of markers, sold in five continents and used by companies large and small. We have recently moved into the 18,000 sq.ft. Ideal Stencil building, where our core group started making markers years ago. Our commitment to quality and value continues. We don't just "sell markers." We constantly test, innovate and improve our products based on our customers input, our experience and imagination.
New Products
We have a sincere passion for what we do, and we love developing new products. For example, after hearing the frustration of auto-workers, tired of markers rolling off their benches, we invented the U-Holder™. When Safety Managers complained about the paperwork required by xylene based paint markers, we were the first to introduce the greenlabel™ series of xylene-free markers. Keep reviewing our new products menu, and you’ll see exciting new products in the near future.
A growing network
U-Mark products are sold through a growing network of independent distributors.
We also work closely with manufacturers and distributors worldwide to develop private label and/or custom filling programs.
